The Larimer County Health Department is enabling child care centers to begin enrolling children back to our normal capacities. Little Bears Childcare is now opening spots for Infants as young as 6 weeks and children as old 6, and as old as 10 years at our Hampshire Location. Our plan is to incorporate homework/tutoring space for older children during the school year. We are continuing to take special precautions by taking temperatures and doing daily health checks before children are dropped off. We are still asking that children are dropped off and picked up at the door to reduce the amount of traffic in and out of the building. We will continue our cleaning regimen of frequently touched surfaces and as always, require frequent hand washing from staff and children. Our policies for closing down the centers in the event of an exposure will remain unchanged. Our operating hours will remain 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. until the Health Department rolls back more restrictions. As always, check out Larimer County Health Department about COVID-19 to learn more.

Little Bear’s is a place where families can feel confident their child is receiving the best care available.

Healthy, Balanced Meal Choices
Little Bear’s Child Care provides daily meals included in your tuition rate for the convenience of your family. All of our food is made in house from food delivered from local vendors. We employ a Food Preparation Specialist at each center to prepare breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. Our teachers sit and share a meal at the table to encourage healthy eating and to promote a family dining environment. Children are encouraged to pour their own drinks whenever possible to foster independence and confidence.
At Little Bear’s Fort Collins child care, breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack are based on the Colorado Adult and Childcare Food Program (CACFP) guidelines. You can always be sure our meals provide a variety of food choices including fresh vegetables and fruit, grains, and proteins while limiting the amount of sugar and fatty foods. Occasionally we may harvest items from our garden for children to sample or even take home! Our goal is to encourage the children in our program to learn and experience healthier food choices, which may lead them to making better food choices as an adolescence and adult.
